Get the benefits of mineral water from a quality water purification system
The benefits of mineral water are overwhelming. So are the claimed health benefits of mineral water purification systems. Yes, drinking distilled or demineralized water is bad for your health, but you can protect yourself without wasting money on an expensive system or bottled drinks.
Some people think that bottling somehow equals purity. This is far from the truth. The level of contamination at bottlers is no better than at public waste facilities. If you think Mineral Water Plant prices in Pakistan have advantages, I have a story for you. I will mention mineral rejuvenation systems for water purification in a moment.
An employee at a wastewater treatment plant in Lahore always drank Perrier. He was sure that one of the benefits of mineral water was its purity. He decided to try a bottle to prove his belief. Imagine his surprise when the results showed such high levels of benzene that the EPA had to shut down his plant. He was sure it was an “accident,” so he tested another from a different batch.
When the results were the same, he called a friend in Georgia. The tests were repeated on a large number of bottles selected from different batches. The values found ranged from 12.3 to 19.9 parts per billion. The EPA limit for this carcinogenic chemical is 5 parts per billion. I think you can cross “purity” off the list of mineral water benefits.
And what about those mineral rejuvenation water purification systems? The original idea is pretty good. Since drinking demineralized water is bad for your digestive system, and since reverse osmosis filters remove minerals, it should be better to add them back in.
If your only source is salt water, that’s a good idea. They do that in desalination plants. But for most of us, reverse osmosis is too expensive and too wasteful for home use. It’s an older technology, and we have better options today.
Mineral water is good for the body because of its nutrient content. Trace minerals like potassium and sodium improve taste. The latest purification plants therefore use ion exchange to “balance” the content, but avoid problems with hard water.
Mineral water recharge systems, on the other hand, remove all the natural minerals found in groundwater and then replace them. This only makes sense in desalination plants, not in the home.
Depending on the system, chemicals may still be present. Reverse osmosis alone does not remove these contaminants. Activated carbon and polymer blocks are needed to perform these functions.
The best solution is a filtration system that includes an ion exchange stage, a carbon stage and a multilayer block combined with a micron filter to remove microscopic bacteria and other microscopic contaminants. Although these systems are more technologically advanced than mineral rejuvenation water treatment systems, they cost much less.
Better quality at a lower price seems too much to ask. However, you can enjoy mineral water without spending a fortune on it.
